What are the TOP 7 best canyoning sites in Ardèche?

  •  The Besorgues: Located in the heart of the Monts d'Ardèche Regional Natural Park, this initiation canyon offers 3 options: 1. The Aero Besorgues, the most comprehensive and demanding of the three routes, offers waterfalls and slides in a spectacular natural setting that are an invitation to play, as well as several zip lines, including the longest in Ardèche of 180m! Nature here is at its finest, and you will be delighted by the cool, crystalline waters of this unspoilt valley. The route takes a total of 3.5 hours, including the approach walk. 2. The Haute Besorgues: the same as option 1 minus the first section with the zip lines - a 2.5-hour aquatic adventure that is ideal for a first canyoning experience. 3. The Basse Besorgues: perfect for families with young children with a sense of adventure (minimum 5yrs old). It takes 1.5 hours to complete this easy yet authentic introduction to canyoning.
  • Borne: a lush setting with emerald pools, never-ending jumps, secret caves and more... You’ll be addicted before you know it!
  • Gourgas: some abseiling, a short slide and numerous jumps make this canyon one of our favourites!
  • Chassezac: an emblematic canyon descent in France, which has been practised since 1974 and is reserved for experienced enthusiasts.
  • Turzon: zip line, abseiling, jumps - a comprehensive itinerary at low altitude close to the warm Rhone valley - ideal in the spring!
  • Rieusset: If it's pouring with rain outside, then you are in luck! It is the ideal time for this canyon descent located near the Gorges of Ardèche. The Riusset is a place with a unique atmosphere and sights and colours not to be missed!
  • Pissevieille: the narrowest and perhaps most intense of our canyons, you’ll be blown away by the stunning view over the Natural Reserve of the Ardèche Gorges at the top of the final abseil!
